Hot Tip - TELUS Might Save You A Bundle
May 28, 2009

TELUS.
The Future Is Friendly.
At least that is what the TV commercials claim.
And now that has come true.
If you are a customer with a TELUS landline you likely can save yourself some money.
Here is how it works.
You call the TELUS Loyalty line.
When you get there ask them if they have any savings for you.
You need to give them either your TELUS account number or I.D. number.
They are both located at the top of your TELUS bill.
They will then check their records and see if any savings are available for you.
In our case there was.
We saved more than $55 a month - a combination of a reduced rate for our telephone line and our high-speed internet.
Here is the number to call.
1-866-429-8144.
Now that was easy.
Consumer Alert - Bloomex Makes Promises

The promises are there.
But they don't deliver.
We're talking about Bloomex, a national Canadian floral company.
They promise to deliver floral and gift arrangements through an online computerized sending system.
The only problem is that they don't deliver what they promise.
It was Mother's Day and a Savvy Insider subscriber placed an order.
It did not arrive on Mother's Day and attempts to reach the company by phone proved unsuccessful.
They had a recording saying that their agents were handling other calls.
Our subscriber, Amy, called her bank and told them to cancel the order.
A bank supervisor told her that they would have to take Bloomex to court and this had happened before.
Meanwhile, one day, after Mother's day the person to whom the flowers were to be delivered to received a phone call from Bloomex saying they were ready to deliver the flowers.
The recipient said no thank you and when asked why they did not deliver the flowers on Mother's Day they said - "they were awfully busy and we could not deliver them all."
We will keep you posted how this all ends up.
