Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

jones.jpg

Sequels.

Sequels to movies.

They are always hard to do and an awful lot of them just don't cut the mustard.

Consider Indiana Jones - a swashbuckling academic adventurer. ably played by Harrison Ford and directed by Steven Spielberg.

The duo manages to pull it off - to make the sequel called Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull interesting and exciting.

Not as good as the original one but nevertheless an entertaining one that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

It is out today at your local video store.

Here is the website. It is full of excellent stuff to play with.

Mongol A New Perspective

mongol.jpg

Genghis Khan.

A ruthless historical figure that changed the world.

Now an award-winning Russian filmmaker brings this larger than life character to the screen.

The movie, Mongol, details the dramatic and harrowing life of Genghis Khan.

It follows Khan as a young child to the day that when one of his battles changes history.

And while most history has shown Khan as an evil, cruel and maniacal dictator, filmmaker Sergei Bodrov paints him as a fearless visionary leader.

The movie is epic in its scope and approach.

It is available today at your local video store.

Fugitive Pieces - A Heartbreaker

fugitive.jpg

The Holocaust.

A personal journey.

Those are the two key points in this Canadian movie - Fugitive Pieces.

The story is familiar.

A young Jewish boy is hidden so German soldiers cannot take him away to be shipped to a concentration camp.

He sees his parents murdered and his sister taken away.

He manages to flee and hide, only to be found by a Greek scientist who takes him away and hides him at his island home.

The young lad eventually ends up in Canada where he has become a writer - a writer struggling to put to paper his horrific childhood.

Needless to say his marriage fails and it is only then that the journey of redemption begins.

The movie is shot beautifully and the acting is touching and believeable.

This is one movie that will tug at your heartstrings.

Also available today at your video store.

Here is a powerful clip from the movie.
